Graduation Project
Graduation Project sponsored by Director of Handlooms and Textiles, Kerala. Yarns hand- dyed using natural materials and woven by skilled artisans at Kanhirode Weaver's Co-operative P&S Society in Kannur, Kerala.
Trasara in Sanskrit means Weaver’s shuttle.
Trasara, is a womenswear collection for the days of fresh blooms and season of radiant sun, to find new branches through the olden
roots. Trasara, carries the thread of heritage entwines them with strands of novelty. It lauds the rustic simplicity and cultural heritage of
Kerala. Through yarns dyed using fresh hues from nature, fabrics woven by skilled weavers from a hamlet in the district of Kannur and contemporary silhouettes derived from traditional Malayali attires, this collection offers more than just garments. Elements of age old rituals are blended well through simple motifs inspired by Theyyam, an art form from the North Kerala and shrines that carry lores of the past. They are inlaid in the weaves using extra- weft. A tinge of gold along with the soft cotton fabric provides the identity of its roots.
This minimalistic line ensures comfort along with modernity and calls out to souls with a penchant for simplicity and emotional connect.
