the revival of a pant

Sustainable Product Development

Upcycling is one of the principles of sustainability. Upcycling garments from existing garments have minimal effect on the nature, with less importance to aesthetics and more to functionality. A formal pants from NEXT is upcycled to a maxi dress with an over garment made from linen material discarded from Peter Craig & Co, Kirkcaldy, Fife.

The pants was deconstructed and over turned to create the dress as the inner finishings were impeccable and perfect. This was also done as an ode to the craftsmanship of the workers who constructed the garment. The linen over garment is multi- drapeable and has patch work details inspired from Kantha work.
